Privacy Policy

YesterKeep turns your photos, calendar, places and notes into a private daily timeline. It is built to keep your life on your device. We do not sell your data, we do not run advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

Who we are

YesterKeep (“YesterKeep”, “we”, “us”) is the developer of the YesterKeep iPhone app and the data controller for the limited processing described below. You can reach us at info@aipops.com.

The short version

On your device. Your memories — photos, events, places, health and activity context, notes and voice thoughts — are stored in a database on your iPhone. We do not have a copy.
No accounts. YesterKeep has no login and no user account on our servers.
No tracking, no ads, no data sales. Ever.
You are in control. Every permission is optional and you can export or delete your data at any time.
AI is the one exception. To write your daily stories and answer your searches, some text may be sent to an AI provider. You can use the built-in provider or your own. See “AI processing” below.

What YesterKeep accesses, and why

YesterKeep only accesses what you grant. Each of these is optional; the app adapts to whatever you allow. Access is used solely to build your private timeline on your device.

Health & Motion	To add workouts, routes, steps, sleep and activity context to a day.
Reminders	To add tasks and lists to your timeline.
Apple Music	To add what you recently listened to.
Camera	To scan documents, receipts and tickets into your timeline.
Microphone & Speech	To record and transcribe voice thoughts, only while you are dictating.
Mail (Gmail / iCloud)	If you connect it, to extract memories such as trips and confirmations. Read-only.

This information stays on your device and is not uploaded to us. Uninstalling the app removes it.

AI processing

To write the short daily stories and to answer natural-language searches (for example “when was I last in Rome?”), YesterKeep needs a language model. Producing that result may require sending the relevant text — and, for some features, image content — to an AI provider.

Built-in provider. By default, requests are routed through our AI provider (OpenRouter, which may in turn use providers such as OpenAI). Only the content needed for the specific request is sent. It is used to generate your result and is not used to train models or shown to us.
Your own provider. You may configure your own AI provider and key in Settings. In that case requests go directly to the provider you choose, under that provider’s terms.

This is the only case where memory content leaves your device, and it happens only for features that need it. If you never use these AI features, no memory content is sent.

Subscriptions

Optional subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes your payment; YesterKeep never sees your card or payment details. Apple’s handling of that transaction is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.

Analytics and tracking

None. YesterKeep contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking SDKs. Our app’s privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.

Your rights and choices

Access & portability. Export your data at any time from Settings → Export My Data.
Deletion. Delete your data in-app, or remove everything by uninstalling YesterKeep.
Withdraw access. Revoke any permission at any time in iOS Settings; the app keeps working with whatever remains.

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have rights under the GDPR to access, rectify, erase, restrict and port your data, and to object to processing. Because your memories live on your device, you exercise most of these rights directly in the app. For anything else, contact us at info@aipops.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in Denmark, Datatilsynet).

Children

YesterKeep is not directed to children and is not intended for use by children under 13.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and revise the date above. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated policy.
